First, 'righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne' (1-6). When the Lord reigns, the whole earth rejoices. This is because righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. He is Almighty, with power to consume all his enemies. His lightning exposes all darkness. One day all people of the earth will see his glory. Second, 'rejoice in the Lord and praise his holy name' (7-12). In view of the Lord's throne and coming judgment, those who worship idols are put to shame. Now is the time to repent and turn to the Lord and worship him. Those who love the Lord rejoice and are glad because of His judgments. In view of his justice, let us hate evil, and trust in his deliverance. His light shines on us, giving joy to our hearts. The same hand that brings judgment also gives great joy. Let's rejoice in his righteousness.
Prayer: Father, you are righteous. I repent of my ways, and trust in your way. Let your light fill me with joy.
One Word: God's light floods the earth
